Glibertarians Defined
June 20, 2007 – 12:58 am by Wacked EconGlibertarian - the kind of person who will tell you in one breath that government should not be in the business of trash collection, but in the next will attack Ted Kennedy for not supporting the troops in their efforts to rebuild Iraq. Glibertarians will talk your ear off about school choice - in all its glorious incarnations from tuition tax credits, to vouchers, to scholarship tuition organizations - and about welfare reform. Glibertarians have read parts of Capitalism and Freedom and will frequently remind you of that fact. The glibertarian loves Friedman, tolerates Hayek, has little nice to say about Mises, and despises Rothbard. The glibertarian has read his Freakonomics and his Wisdom of the Crowds. The glibertarian is always looking for the next Ronald Reagan, whether that’s Rudy Giuliani, Mitt Romney, or, god help us, John McCain. The glibertarian derides libertarians as “idealistic”, “unpragmatic”, or too radical. The glibertarian often speaks of “market-based” this or that.
Glibertarians are closely related to the neolibertarian.
